Vinegar is an excellent menstruum for extracting minerals. Taken in the spring, this tonic can help restore and rejuvenate after a long winter.
½ cup freshly dried dandelion leaf
1 tablespoon dried powdered dandelion root
½ cup chopped, freshly dried parsley
2 tablespoons chopped, freshly dried oatstraw or milky oat tops
1 tablespoon crushed dried chamomile flowers
1 tablespoon crushed dried peppermint
1 teaspoon chopped dried burdock
¼ cup whole raisins
4 cups apple cider vinegar
Place herbs and raisins in a clean jar.
Cover with vinegar, so that the herbs are completely saturated and covered by about an extra inch of menstruum.
Shake your jar every day or two for at least two weeks.
Strain, bottle, cap, and store in a cool dry place or in the refrigerator (McBride, 2010).
