Our little princess Jasmin (well, not so little anymore :0) turned 5 last December 4, 2009. Here’s what happened that morning of her birthday:

Our family used to get up early to sing to the birthday celebrant and present her/him the gift but that particular morning. On this day, I think Jasmin forgot it was her birthday. She was so excited what Santa Claus put in her socks so she woke up around 5:30am to look for her present. But then she realized it was actually her birthday. So she told Daniel and Brandon (who were already awake too!) that she will go back to bed and wait til we got up and sing for her.
I didn’t know that she was waiting on her bed until Daniel woke me up around 6:45 and whisper; “Mor (Mom) when are you gonna wake up?” and I answered, “why, what time is it?”. He answered, ” Do you have Jasmin’s gift? Jasmin is actually waiting in her bed. She told me that it’s her birthday and I wanna be the one to give her her presents”.
So I get up and couldn’t help but smile and wondering how long time she’d been waiting in her bed?? So I went to get her gift and I woke Ole and Thalia up and we all sing “Idag er Jasmins fødselsdag og det har hun jo og det er idag…..”
The first thing she said is “Mor i’m now 5”. “I’ve been waiting to be 5”. She was that day and I know I have to make her day something she would always remember.
So I made her wish birthday cake castle the night before the celebration of her birthday. I was actually feeling sick and Jasmin thought I can’t make her Castle cake. But I know how much she’d been waiting for this day that we can have her cake. So even though I know it’s a little late at night to start making it, I still manage to finish it and went to bed around 2:45 am. The next morning I was soooo tired but as soon as Jasmin saw my surprise, her happines and gratefullnes was all worth the trouble and i’m glad I made her Disney Princess Castle Cake.
